Health guide

When is urgent care the right choice?

Medically reviewed by Magesh Sathaiah, MD · Updated September 2026

  • A sprain or strain where you can still move the joint.
  • A cut that has stopped bleeding but may need stitches.
  • A minor burn smaller than your palm.
  • Fever, sore throat, ear pain, or burning when you pee.
  • A rash, insect bite, or mild allergic reaction.
  • A fever that lasts more than three days, or symptoms that improve and then suddenly get worse.

Call 911 for chest pain, trouble breathing, stroke signs, bleeding that won't stop with pressure, a bone through the skin, or a head injury with confusion or vomiting.

If this sounds like you, call 405-839-8005 to book a visit.

Health tips

Press firmly on a bleeding cut

for 10 minutes with a clean cloth before deciding whether to come in.

Cool a minor burn under cool running water,

not ice, which can damage the skin further.

Rest and raise a sprained ankle or wrist

until it's checked.

Call early in the day

for the best chance of a same-day visit.

Bring your medication list and ID,

so the visit moves faster.

If this sounds like you, call 405-839-8005 to book a visit.
